I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
